Expansion
Since Tingleys Estate Agents was established in 1996 they have grown to two offices covering Shoreham through to Brighton & Hove. Following a successful growth period came the need for them to have a third office in central Brighton. After a successful relaunch of their web site (www.tingleys.co.uk) by Viper, Tingley's asked Viper to install and configure a new computer network at their Dyke Road office.
As part of the new installation Viper under took the following tasks
- Installed a new server, including an email server and remote backup facility
- Installed and configured four workstations
- Enabled remote management of the server and workstations
- Configured a secure remote link between the offices
Make-over
Following a successful and efficient installation of Tingley's Brighton office, Viper were asked back to complete a make-over on the main office in Hove. This included installing and configuring a new server and new PC's.
Management
Viper provide a 'pay as you go' support package to Tingley's. The support package provides simple telephone support, remote problem solving, on-site diagnostics and repair.

Background
Viper initially started working for Skerritts (www.skerritts.co.uk) in September 2002, simply installing a number of new machines after a break-in. At this time they were running aprroximately 6 or 7 workstations connected to a Windows NT 4.0 server (used for file sharing and as a very basic email server).
Growth
As Skerritts grew in size, so did the computer requirements. Initially it was to cover an extra two floors of their current building, then it was replacing the old server to a new Windows 2003 server capable of far more. Following this it was an update to Microsoft Exchange including a SPAM filtration system, linking 2 remote offices and then more recently a complete change.
More power
Recently, with the expansion to another additional office and the need for access for both a new phone system and the computers to the current network a new plan was formed. The newest incarnation of the Skerritts network handles in the region of 25 workstations over five sites, and one server.
- Setup a wireless link between the main office and the satellite office across the road
- As part of a refit of the new satellite office, install a network and supply battery backup (UPS) for each desk due to regular power cuts experienced
- Install a completely new network, over 5 floors covering around 20 desks for both phone and data
- Assist in the installation of the new VoIP phone system suppied by a third party, managed by Viper
- Install a completely new server cabinet capable of handling the network infrastructure, server, and new phone system
- Allow remote access to workstations
- Enable remote management of the server and network systems
Management
Viper is in sole charge of running the IT infrastructure at Skerritts, including the new phone system, and providing support and maintenance to all offices. The support we provide ranges from simple telephone questions, to remote problem solving, to on-site diagnostics and repair.
